I'm thinking it's a glitch in the hitbox arrangements or something.

I guess that a lot would depend on where the fuel tank is vented and where the associated plumbing is routed or if the aircraft has any fuel dump plumbing going out to the wing tip then this scenario is probably feasable plus dragging metal against tarmac or concrete dirt and gravel probably generates considerable heat from friction so again possible but probably should happen each time you duplicate the conditions.

ok I try again  ;D, I have no big trubble in taxing with the ww2 tailweel planes, BUT I hate when I make a map with realistic (weather) and nose gear planes I get a 20km/h crosswind and my me 262 makes a turn of 90 degrees.
that is the same story with the (for example an DC-2). and I show you a video of heavy crosswind with the tailgear aircraft you'll notes the diference between the two.

My point is that in the game with a tiny little crosswind I can't stay on the runway, in this video they can.

the planes in IL-2 are instantly face the wind direction.
and on the carrier you can't even turn normaly.
I do want to mod my self, but I can't mod yet, I have trubble lerning soow I'm sorry.
Iff i could i whould do it myself.

regards (-B.M-)

In response to you, Congo:
This was happening in the D.XXI, which has all wood wings. The fuel tank is located aft of the engine. It really doesn't make sense for the fuel tank to catch on fire in this situation.

In response to battlemaster:
Yes, the nose wheel of just about every aircraft in the game is awful about having any friction whatsoever. And crosswind taxiing does seem a bit too annoying. I however cannot vouch for this aspect as I don't know enough about it.
