This request kind of got me wondering now,
was not "yellow" and "orange" colors used mostly on training/prototype Japanese aircraft?
I donĀ“t remember reading anything about yellow colors being used on drop-tanks.
I must check my book collection again.

If it is actually historical, then it must be done to many of them. A complete re-paint job!

Max - if you need to do some research on those yellow tanks, this might help - they were made of wood - I've got a picture of civilians making them somewhere. They were used by both IJA and IJN on their aircraft.
