Hi everyone, it's been awhile with updates.

Right now I'm experimenting with hit boxes and clips, and turning parts into meshes. This is the result of me following a tutorial by Sas-sani. I like Sani's approach of having the model imported bit-by-bit into IL-2, and build up the plane from there. But, I've stopped at the landing gear mainly because the Hawk III's gear is complex, and I've not figured out how to apply the tutorial to it. Admittedly, it's been more easy to pick up 3d.

No idea on ETA until I've picked up skills necessary for IL-2 importing, or find a more experienced modder who's willing to import the model for me.

Stayed tuned...  ;)

You'll find some info on collision models and clips over here:

Hope it helps  :)

Hi, LiddleMaus. Keep up the good work. I guess some of the more experienced modders can help with the hard bits. I look forward to seeing it in the game when it's released.

cheers

I've talked to him via pm regarding the model and import process. I think he's busy rigging the model for IL-2. Once it's done we'll have a test import in game  :). But it's up to him really...

Wow it was barely 30 days ago, give him a break given he has been pretty spot on weekly with progress prior. These kinds of doubting comments really belong in the Banana forum for CoD, but not here.

Verhängnis nowhere in my post did I express doubt, all I said was (I have a bad feeling) maybe LiddleMaus is having problems as I would imagine the learning curve for building a mod from scratch for IL2 is quite slow I don't know but, like was stated he was updating just about every week and then all of a sudden nothing, almost like your heart skipping a beat,it just brings up a little concern that's all.And its good to hear in S3231541's post that progress is still being made even if it is slow.  8)

i remember someone saying that modeling , shaping an aircraft with polygones is not so simple.

but when you do not have as many polygones as you want, and have to follow certain rules thatr estrict you like handcuffs, is like, 10 times harder.
