BMW 132 texture needed
« on: March 17, 2012, 04:25:50 AM »

Good day everyone!

As you may have guessed from the title of this thread, i'm working on visually upgrading the look of the Tante Ju's engines. The 3d is pretty much ready, but i need the help of someone in order to make a proper texture for its engines, as i totally lack any skills when it comes to skinning.

Here is a preview of the new engines in game, and below the UVW mapping for the radial engines. If anyone is up to the challenge, please let me know or if you want, directly post your version and i'll include it in the final release (with obvious credits to the author) ;)

Cheers!

Great news!! I was hoping some one would give the JU-52 a much needed face lift for her engines. Thanks for this!

Engine is on skin, would be engough to map your new 3D to skin, it will save a lot of skinners work.

Hi Loku!
I know that, but i don't like the results. As you can see here with a quick comparision, i think that with a dedicated texture it would look definitely better than mapping the new 3d to the skin.
In the second pic, you can see that both engines have the new 3d but in my opinion the one with the "stand-in" texture i've done, looks still a long way better than the one mapped onto the skin.

Oh,i see what is your goal,in this case its better to make separate texture for "engine"only so it will looks much better than stock.
