Cant z1007 with Single plane vert stabilizer?
« on: March 22, 2012, 06:56:52 AM »

I saw this thread ( https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,24416.0.html ) with the wonderful upgrades to Cantz1007 with a pretty picture beside it of Cant z506 floater and wondered why we couldn't get this ?  Some franken work and FM and DM adjustment and voila!

"The Z.1007 also suffered longitudinal stability problems that were partly rectified later by the adoption of a twin tail arrangement"

"The 12.7 mm (.5 in) Breda was a standard weapon for Italian bombers and the field of fire was improved by the twin-tail configuration on later models."

Almost half of the Cantz1007s were built with a single tail fin!!!

                               Note single tail fin

Honestly I posted this here because right now I am not up to a properly formulated Request. In fact I have made this before long long time ago.

                               See this thread Part 6

Another interesting note : "they were also used for long range reconnaissance, with excellent results. Some, at least 20, were equipped with an auxiliary tank that gave 1,000 km (620 mi) extra endurance. Some were adapted for flare drops when day missions were too dangerous."

Tempted modders?

Much more beautiful than the "twin fin" arrangements.
i am into twin fin stuff. 110, B-25, P-38/61 and similar -
but the 1007 just is one of these designs that should have a single fin really.
Fits much better than the V-tail and the two small plates.

An emotional "+1" from me, right here.
A reason to fly the plane when ts no longer ugly.

The 1007 with monodérive is the first version of 1007bis (series 1 to 3).
Gilb57 made ??the application of this version.
This is especially the 3D work to fit the tail of the 506 instead of 1007 (and the tail wheel ... not to forget!).
I noticed this to be done ... but I'm not good in 3D!
So for the fans ... please! I am ready to make the Class for this new version!
