There's a good 3D model of a Stirling over at 3D Warehouse.  As the intent would not be for profit etc it might save a modder (not me  ;) ) a lot of work assuming permission is given to use it.
It's done in Sketchup but can be exported to .obj format.
Just a suggestion. :)

Of particular interest to me as my father worked for Short Bros early in the war and later was a rear gunner on them with 161 squadron. He spoke very little of his war so I can contribute nothing but I would certainly like to see it.

Love to see it but probably won't be soon :( (Hopefully will not be a forgotten aircraft). Now the Hampden has made it to the RAF fleet the last of the British bombers are the Short Stirling and the Avro Manchester.  :) (Perhaps also would be nice to top it off with a dedicated non Franken Halifax MK1 with inline engines. 8)) A lot of wishes.  :o  ;D
