Have you had a look over here? http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com These guys are the best Il2 skinners on the web IMHO.

You could join up and post a request.  Skinners of this quality are sticklers for historic accuracy though, so you would have to make a good case.  If you can research the aircraft and find a few pics to assist this will help.

Why not make a post there and give it a go?  You can say I sent you!

First of all, thanks Monty27 for a wonderful campaign. I have owned IL2 since the original, and the only campaigns that I have played over and over again, were the White Sun Blue Sky and the Hurrican Season series. I am really looking forward to flying this, and your upcoming campaigns look tantilizing as well.

But I have 2 questions.

1) Someone mentioned in an earlier post that while flying the cargo mission [?} with the C47, that you needed to dump your cargo. Is there a key command to do that, which leads to question 2.

2) The C&C mod that is part of the #DBW_MOD_Static, which keys if any do I need to assign or add to the [MODS] section of the conf.ini, to get the most out of your campaign.

I dont normally mess with realistic navigation, but want to hear those radio stations so ......

Once again, thanks for the campaign and the help.

Hi Stryker

WSBS and the like were very influential campaigns, the Campaign Manual has some background notes you may be interested in.  Like you, I'm an old school player from waaay back and the latest DBW1.71 provides us with the ultimate version of this sim so far.

Dumping cargo would be the same as dropping cargo, use one of the regular weapon keys.  The C&C Mod, much of which is already part of DBW1.71 is expanded to the next version with the JSGME Addon Packs by 78thFG_WindWpn.  The features you encounter are built in to the missions and add a lot eye candy but don't need extra input from the player.

Regarding beacons, you need to assign keys for select next/previous beacon.  The improved functionality of 'realistic' navigation settings goes a lot further with various instrument and guidance systems implemented, but for this campaign we just enjoy the music.

Having trouble with this beautiful campaign
« Reply #67 on: June 01, 2012, 02:49:53 PM »

I really hope I am in the right discussion area for this to post. My problems are these, I installed Flying Tigers Campaign as specified in a virgin install, but can not get it to function properly. The two main errors so far are these. "Mission loading failure: Mesh 3do/humans/paratroppers/Germanymono.sim not created". The second is "Mission loading failure: landscape 'ag_Hankow/load.ini loading error." I am just a beginner at modding in DBW and love what I see, but loving what I see does not quantitate into experience. So please someone school me on what I neeed to do. Thank you Report to moderator 72.184.254.133.

I desperately want to play this campaign, but to me, the early P-40s are unflyable with the gunsights removed as they are in DBW.  I went to great lengths to depict those cockpits accurately when I built them for the original release of PacFi, and that even included the unique field-fabricated hanging reflex sight in the Flying Tiger-specific H81-A2 aircraft slot.  Why those sights were removed, I can't understand.  : (

Until DBW puts them back in - the way they were historically - I'll have to get my Flying Tigers action elsewhere, which is a shame because this campaign looks fantastic and really wrings out a lot of the other goodies DBW brings to the table...

Have you talked to Cirx or Crazyflak?
Probably something that would be better handled via PM than aired in public.

just saw this, and as i love flying the early P-40's as well, i'm also a bit intrigued as to what's going on...
@ CWMV, there's absolutely no problem with what PlaneEater is asking - certainly doesn't need to be confined to PM ;)
@ Boomer, if i understand you correctly, then it must be one of the DBW-specific sfs files that's superceding the stock sfs file?
if these planes not having the original gunsight is historically accurate, then i could accept it, although i'd also prefer to have both sight options available.
PlaneEater says they did have these gunsights, then i'm also puzzled as to why they were removed in the first place...?
i don't recall seeing any notes about this in any of the readme/doc's - if it's in there somewhere, please excuse me. :D
@ PlaneEater, as Boomer mentioned, it's no biggie to get them back to the way they were.
seriously, though, if it's accurate they had these sights, i'm really puzzled as to why they were removed - unless it was just an oversight of some kind?

@ i have a big request, either to Monty or any other member that could help - i have d/l'd almost every file needed for this campaign, except for the Static Mod, which i am unable to d/l - seems to be an issue with gamefront.
i simply cannot d/l this file at all, using different web browsers doesn't help.
so there i am - stuck on page 1.
any chance that someone could upload that static mod at mediafire, or pretty much any other host than gamefront?
i'd really appreciate it, and i know of other members that have the same problem with gamefront, so it wouldn't be just for me. ;)

oh, one more question: there are two alternate links for the Mod Aircraft d/l.......one for mediafire, one for gamefront.
with the same problem, i can only realistically d/l the mediafire one.
the problem i see in my download manager, is that the two different host links show two different file sizes.
mediafire has it at 87.99MB, and gamefront has it at 117.51MB.  problem. which size is right?
and oh heck, another little issue - part 5 of the campaign d/l seems to be dead.
so, i'm not even getting off the ground in this case, it seems....
can these links be updated/checked, please, Monty?
thanks in advance for any assistance. :D
