maybe i am just an intolerant bastard who hates everything Dutch and Czech.

So why are you here then, by the way? (Topic about Dutch aircraft; so you only come to fuck the fokkers?)

naaah the fokker aint even interesting and has nothing to offer.
look at how that dude is trying to play with the big fokkers and defend his compagnon
The T. V on the other hand, is a  very sympatic little Bomber.
It raises awareness of how the Dutch high command tried to use it.
whoch in turn leads to an analysis on how the french also built socalled multipurpose aircraft,  which, ultimately, failed because they were used FAR outside of their technical possibilities... The potez series come to mind for example.

One thing does not surprise at all though. the intended replacement By Do-215s... that was, from a technical point of View, an excellent upgrade.

The T.IX was designed as a replacement for the Glenn Martin 139/166 bombers used by the ML-KNIL in the NEI. As this would involve replacing over 100 aircraft Fokker was naturally VERY interested indeed in obtaining this order.
The T.IX was Fokker's first all-metal aircraft. Bomb load was to be 2000 kg, double the load of the Glenn Martins; defensive armament was to be one 20mm cannon in the nose turret and two twin .303s (some sources say two twin .50s) in the dorsal and ventral positions. The German occupation of Holland ended the T.IX's further development and the ML eventually ordered B-25s as replacements for the Glenn Martins. Parts of the T.IX prototype- apparently including the fuselage- eventually ended up at the Technical University in Delft but were scrapped in or around 1960. What a waste!

Those in the background are just B-24 in Dutch skins, aren't they?
