On the QMB viewer, these aircraft will always display 4 MGs, but in the game the armamanet will be correctly displayed as selected: 2 Vickers, 2Vickers+2PV1, 2x20mmOerlikon
The Oerlikon has an important recoil - for the fun, try to fire it when on ground and looking for outside, from above - you'll see this plane move rearwards under the effect of the recoil!
The D372 had no wheel brakes while the D372 had them. In Spain, after various incidents and in view of teh dubious efficiency of these brakes (Krusai succeeded to take off once without being aware that wheel brakes were present and "on" - on the other hand when he tried to land he made as could be expected a perfect "nose down pylon" due to these brakes being still "on")
These plane take off and fly smoothly - they are very nimble fighters as all Dewoitine creations.
For the period they were rather fast and good climbers - as a matter of fact their performances were slightly superior to the ones of the Fiat Cr32 - but employed disastroulsy with bad tactics, although their pilots were very good and therefore they didn't suffer in Spain from problems with the Gnome-Rhone K14 engine (not respecting strict procedures caused huge lubrification problems on this engine - this was the case for instance with the Loire 46, same engine but different pilots who successfully "killed" the engines)
It took me some research to understand that there were very obvious reasons behind these armament variations - It appears thatthat the the original C1 program for which this plane and the Loire 46 were developped, included the capacity for wing 20mm guns - I found a photo of such armed D371 prototype - the 20mm idea was discarded not because of its failure but because the French decided that the ideal fighter was a light, cheap, mixed construction, nimble (and therefore lightly armed fighter - they tried after that to correct that with their Hispano moteur-cannon, so secret that when he came to real war challenge, first in China then in France, it was a dramatic failure) - so much for the specialists of the GCE who said that this plane wings could not support the fire of a 20mm gun...These guns look BTW rather strange as they are mostly external to the wing.
The reason behind the Vickers/PV1 is also quite simple to understand....after discovering the internal drawing of the gun arrangements on the D371 - There were no cowling guns at any stage, at the opposite of what is often written, but emplacements for 2 MAC machine guns in each wing - the problem was that the ammo compartment was designed for either the cylinder magazine of the Hispano 20mm or for the ammunition bands of the MAC. The Spanish had problems of maintainance and supply with the MAC and asked the planes to be delievred without them so they could fit them with the ubiqutous Vickers - the problem was that the Vickers too had a cylindrical magazine and only one such magazine could fit the ammo compartment of each wing - thus 2 Vickers only - When the PV1 became available, their ammo could fit the compartment of other MAC and therefore the logical arrangement became 1 Vickers and 1 PV1 in each wing. As for bomb color paints, there is always a very practical and prosaic reason behind technical things that happen in war.

To avoid the strange reorientation phenomenon of the fuselage mesh happenning when hit hard, just edit in the hier him (and in the hier1.him) the following line in the entries [CF_D1] and [CF_D2]:

replacing it by the line:
Attaching 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0
(DON'T change it in [CF_D0] only [CF_D1] and [CF_D2])
To correct the Dead pilot sinking too low in the cabin with his feet appeariing beyond the fuselage, edit in the hier him (and in the hier1.him) the following line in the entry [Pilot1_D1] :

replacing it by the line
Attaching 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0.3 0

3DFix #2 10/11/24
Taking into consideration a few bugs reported in the thread together with proposed fix, please find attached a consolidated fix. You only need to extract the files to the plane folder and let overwrite. Just in case please back up your old files.
