Interesting solution for internal shadows with darkened object.
It will be used two type materials in one room?

If I understand correctly, this adds additional polys and additional texture to the model.
If the gradient texture is applied as a separate layer in skin1o.psd then there is no more effort in the painting of the texture.
When saved in game format, skin1o.tga, with the layers merged then it must be much more efficient for the game engine?

Hi
I can say only that adds additional polygons and a 256x256 tga
But I found an other method to add shadows without adding poligons;
it requires only more time to design texture in pds file and I have to use the right lights in the scene
as you can see on my shot:

that opening is done using a method called: render to texture
If there is someone who can explain exactly which light and steps I have to use It will be easier for me to finish all openings
regards

Hi RAF_Cobber.

I see your screenchots and I feel...
You are better to export your LOD0 WIP model to IL-2 .msh and run in IL-2 1946 graphic engine.

IL-2 1946 graphic engine makes lighting and shadows automatically.
Looking in 1946 is different from modelers rendering.

Hi,
@western0221

unfortunally I do not have any tool to export in IL2 at the meantime.
but according to your post I Can do all openings without shadows than later when someone will help me to export ARK in IL2
we're able to see the dinamic shadows Il2 gives us.
all my best

Don't think it is a crane, it might be something like the supports for a gash chute, that looks like a gash barge underneath it. Or it could be an accommodation ladder, there is a spar just below the deck level that could be used for ships boats.

Here is the opposite side, and that looks like an accommodation ladder lashed in the upright position in about the same place.

I would say it's just a gash chute or waste water chute, and the marks on the ships side above it are the attachment points for the degaussing ring.  The accommodation ladder is stowed just in the bottom left hand bit of your circle fwd of it.

Not sure if she had a ring fitted but I doubt it could be anything else.
