Another update. Sorry no picture yet.
Superstructure optimizing is done. No more bad reflections.

Now moving to a part I hate, partly because there are many things reg smoothness to correct. the Mast surface
and then of course final part is merging the gun textures so no dup textures without meaning that only raise overall size are needed.

Progress is somewhat slow but stable.
After the mistake I made in Yamato that really suffers from lack of optimization I do not want to repeat the same.
I was half going to fix that one to but since TD is bussy making a final Yamato official version I don't think it's worth the trouble and time.
I only hope once the official model is ingame ppl don't start accusing me of depicting it bad because you know, ppl are never happy. Even after saying 100 times I made that one as a private venture to fill a gap and not as sth to distribute in start they may give me BS.
I swear if they do that I'm out.

But anyway back to subject. She is progressing, don't worry might take some time but I'm not giving up on her.

Do what you want for the reasons you want, and never listen to other people. even the ones encouraging you.

Only listen to the ones that help you when you are stuck.

and never ask for advice from the users... they are afterall your "customers" and can never have enough.
ask for advice from places and people that are not yur customers, but that are your fellow modelers - their motives are closer to yours.  :)

Diving Hawk: I just want you to know that I have enjoyed the presence of the fearfull Yamato (I mostly fly as US in the pacific ;-) ) in many missions already. There will always be new insights, opening up new and better possibilities, so anyone accusing you of depicting a bad ship will only be showing his ignorance and stupidity.

I for one am still enjoying your Yamato VERY much; I even submitted a shot at the screenshots sections.  :)
Many thanks for your great work on both great ships!  :D :D

OK

Isn't time for 2 WEEKS!?
Oh wait it actually is not !!

Optimized version posted.
Changes include:
* Proper Shadow meshes/ shadow mesh probs fixed
* fixed 2 collision meshes and altered quite a few
* Fixed wrong smoothness issue in many parts
* Fixed most bad reflections
* Optimized the whole thing, size is cut down to 41.7MB from 60.1MB in previous version without loss in quality
* Added dead crew to 40mm stations for those that select that option

I have just installed this beauty and tested it successfully apart a little bug....

At first the ship doesn't shown in FMB and looking at the log I discovered an error in the sec_guns_256_dm.tga in which the dimansion isn't of 256kb but 157....maybe due saving with compression....anyway saving it without compression have solved the issue and this great ship sail quite good!

Thanks for share dear!

All the very best!

Look into your log if the error is realted to the sec_guns_256_dm.tga , if so you should:

1) open the tga with a graphic program (I use GIMP)
2) simply save by 'save as' with a different name without compression
3) rename it as 'sec_guns_256_dm.tga'
4) overwrite previous

Now it should work!
