I'm sorry Molke. Due to real life issues I don't have the time required to help or mod atm.
But I saw Asheshouse replying so you are in good hands m8.

Ok finally got some time again.

My plan is to work on the Iowa again.
Right now I'm going to optimize it a bit,

namely merging textures together when possible, changing some shadow meshes , making them less complex
More is not necessary better, before I move on to the cold war model I want to optimize this one.

Today I just finished optimizing the nose and middle section of the ship.
Shadow meshes are cut by a significant degree , also collision made less complex( but enough to be realistic)
Texture size reduced to 256 for LOD1 since from that distance the difference is not even visible and 64 and 32 textures made one since their size is almost equal.

I think you will not find the abrupt brightness levels in the side bars also.

So don't worry still working to give you a better ship, it's just that optimizing takes time and I did not have too much lately.

But on the other hand this is what the Yamato suffers from, lack of optimization, a lot of shadow meshes too big and some details that don't make it a great model. I just select since TD has an official Yamato underway not to spend time on this one and divert all energy in the Iowa class instead.

I hope I can make it to a realease in Christmas but I really can't promise anything. Optimized version will come when it comes.

Thanks for update Diving Hawk – great to hear. You have already given us this great model –optimizing is an added bonus, so take your time, we can wait  ;)

Just so you can see the progress.
In the old model there were certain areas where smoothness was applied to non circular objects creating bad sading.
I'm happy to report I've managed to solve my prob.

Compare this to previous front area and you will see:

S!

Hello everyone,
Just thought you might wish to know this ain't dead.

Real life issues and priorities forced me out and I missed my Christmas milestone (I'm Sorry!! :-X)
But now everything is ok again so work continues.
All the bad reflections are gone from hull models and their damage ones,

I am optimizing the Superstructure models. Then the gun texture merging time.

Work continues at a steady pace again atm
I'm sorry for the absence and hope to bring you the optimized version soon,

Diving_Hawk,

It takes grapes a while to ferment, age, and become a luscious wine or beverage.  It seems to me that your creations are similar.  The anticipation is difficult to wait for,  but we know it all takes time.  In the end, it will be worth the wait.  Thanks for the update.

Another update. Sorry no picture yet.
Superstructure optimizing is done. No more bad reflections.

Now moving to a part I hate, partly because there are many things reg smoothness to correct. the Mast surface
and then of course final part is merging the gun textures so no dup textures without meaning that only raise overall size are needed.

Progress is somewhat slow but stable.
After the mistake I made in Yamato that really suffers from lack of optimization I do not want to repeat the same.
I was half going to fix that one to but since TD is bussy making a final Yamato official version I don't think it's worth the trouble and time.
I only hope once the official model is ingame ppl don't start accusing me of depicting it bad because you know, ppl are never happy. Even after saying 100 times I made that one as a private venture to fill a gap and not as sth to distribute in start they may give me BS.
I swear if they do that I'm out.

But anyway back to subject. She is progressing, don't worry might take some time but I'm not giving up on her.

Hey mr. Hawk, good to hear that she is progressing. What is your opinion about the post that I made here https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,27936.36.html, concerning how deep she is in the water?
