Aragon and Chaco Maps retextured
« on: April 15, 2012, 07:20:15 AM »

Should anyone be interested, here are retex versions of the Chaco and Aragon maps ...

Aragon is mostly the same except for new textures / Chaco is also new re textures, texture mapping, terrain heights and most villages have been redone. Airfields are still as in original version though ...

Just a dumb question: if we install these in DBW, new files are supossed to crash the ones o the map included in game?

That's right. If there are any new files that overwrite older files, then answer 'yes' to overwrite. If you wish to revert to the old version of the map, then you can simply delete the new files. The old map versions are contained in sfs files and so are an integral part of the game unless superseded by the same files in #DBW ...

Well, with all the templates for new planes and skins and real life stuff going on ... I really hardly have time to actually fly in Il-2 ... and making good screen shots is not just something you can make in 1-2-3 ...

I'll see about it though ... in the meantime, the old maps do not look better, believe me ... ha ha

Thanks for this! I just flew over Zaragossa, and altough it took a real FPS-hit the town really looked beautiful!

I am right looking into what SCW campaigns could be done with this map - because we have practically all the aircraft we need!  ;D

I just could make a couple of flights, but checked you made a great job with those textures. The only thing I miss are the Nationalist aerodromes of Saragosse. Sanjurjo should be placed a little outside of the map to the west from the city. This was the main one from the end of 1936 on. El Palomar was important just for the first months, but this map is specially useful for Alas Rojas, so it woud be interesting to include it, and really easy, since it was just at the Northern outskirts of the city.  ;)
