The most 'modern' jet we have atm is the F-4 Phantom
Nope, the latest is the L-139 Albatros

*our most modern technology is in the F-4
The L-139 doesn't have any technology that is from after the F-4, except maybe the HUD, but that isn't fully functional yet.

I believe we have gone into the year 2112 already... https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,27629.0.html
Time traveling in the IL-2 is simply fabulous.  8)

No matter what comes up flying next in the IL-2 skies,
you can rest assure it will be loads of great fun for everyone.

DAT JET

When I first saw the working vectored thrust in this plane I started to believe again that one day we can have Harrier in this sim.

We already have a Harrier Jump Jet in test flights  ;)

But you ain't gonna release, it are you? I saw some videos and I heard that it had HeLe code used for change of thrust vector (2 positions switched with airbrake key)

Unless there's some classified research around?

currently these planes are to advanced for the game, but in 1-2 years they will probably be possible.
hehe it seems that il2 is at a constant evolution(as I seen future SCI FI planes mods!). btw :P one of my friends is currently working on a Frogfoot!

Well, I would like to have the F18 in Jetwar 2006 or something, as we are currently at Jetwar 1956 and beta'ing (or so I think) 1966.

It would be cool to see the progress in Il-2 over the next years... with HSFX 10, UP 5, and Modact 7!
