These small thing that annoyed me since the early beginning

I have always flown the stock IL2 sturmovick dgen campaign from the start to end, every time I start up IL2 sim I do a mission. I try to keep myself alive and restart the campaign if I die. ( try this with no external view no mapicons and you will see why so many of them was shot down  :) )
There are however historical faults in the sturmoviks FM that I  really want to see fixed. I do not know if it is possible.

1. The bombdors was manually in all vertions of the plane, they opened by the weight of the bomb when released, and stayed open for the entire flight.
2. Hydraulics should not work if engine is caput.
3. the animation of mixture handle, flaps, pitch, and so on in pit does not work.

These things would have done a great immersion in game

Honestly Id love to see a rework of this plane as we have of so many others.
I think the old girl deserves it!

Totally agree! the aircraft that started it all, and now it really is the ugly duckling  >:(  We have stunning looking Phantoms all manner of what if aircraft etc. (but i'm not really complaining  ;)) and yet the original IL-2 probably has more missions /campaigns available and still no update??
There was some talk from Russian sites about the time the stunning Mig-3 update was in develepment but i have seen nothing since....

The IL-2 campaign is a huge improvement on the stock one  :) you really ought to try it especially with this effects mod

Here's hoping an updated Sturmovik comes along one day soon!

I haven't actually flown the Il2 in...well...10 years.
I bought the game for the 109, and that's about all Ive been interested in!
 :P

But you bring up something Ive wondered about for a while. The job that was done with the Mig-3 revamp set a totally new standard for Il2 aircraft. It is arguable the best looking aircraft in game and is the equal of anything Ive seen in CoD.

Would LOVE to see the IL2 redone in such a way.
