Practice runways 1 thru 6
« on: May 09, 2012, 11:24:26 AM »

I noticed that there is a bit of a "drop off" at the edge of the practice runways, specifically the skinny runway 4.  Any aircraft going off the edge gets damaged.
Is there any method to lower the runway?  Just curious.
The reason I ask is that I can use the invisible runway to place my aircraft at a hangar so I can taxi to the proper runway but the difference in height between the runway "surface" and the map "ground" is high enough to make it impossible.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Ack, thanks.
I was experimenting with the very large practice runways and blanketing the entire airfield with them but keeping the edges over the aprons/hangars etc.  It was hit and miss with spawning at the end of the practice runway as the a/c spawned in the middle at the end of the runway.  Perhaps placing stationary objects at key locations at the end of the practice runway would force the a/c to spawn where you want at the end of the runway??? :-\  I'll have to check that out.

If your mission is offline, you can just move the takeoff waypoint anywhere you want near a runway.

No joy.  No matter where I drag the takeoff icon the mission always starts at the end of a runway.  BTW, I'm talking specifically about DBW not 4.11 as I want to do this with heavy bombers.

There is an old mod that does the trick:
reduced airfield influence radius

IMHO this mod could be incorporated in DBW.

I've been with IL2 from the beginning and this is something we've always wanted. This shows it can be done.
