Tried that, same problem.

Must be a conflict with something but damned if I can work out what it is.

I'll try another download, you never know ?

Nope, exact same problem, it gets to Stand By at 100% and freezes.

However, when I try to shut it down I get another fault report with the start up screen that says:

Il-2 6Dof/TIR Enabled Executable for modded 1l-2 Sturmovik 1946 has stopped working

So I'm guessing it has something to do with that ?

Can you pm me a picture of your mod folder,

Link to where you download the MiG-19 and a copy of your log file? I can try to work it out for you.

Cheers,

This plane works fine however, landing behaviour is incredibly strange, I go in at around 200kph with full flaps but before I hit the runway it suddenly flies up and generally behaves like a helicopter, I have to go in with flaps at takeoff setting to avoid this.

MiG's indeed 8) they do do a rough job, but sometimes a better one or equal to...

Ground Effect?, is effective, the closer to the ground you are I think, although depends on how it is moddled ingame.
I use the airbrakes to assist in lowering the speed once set up in a nice smooth decent, when using the airbrakes add some throttle, say 40 to 50 %-ish more with them deployed.
Or deploy and retract them alternately until the speed your after is reached, of if slow enough, deploy a Drag Chute (if fitted).

Ground effect? Surely not, I go in for a nice smooth landing and just as I'm about to hit the ground it suddenly flies up with the engines on 0%. No other plane behaves like this, I can land the F-4 Phantom and other jets fine it's just this plane.

Love this plane! In an LAN match doing mach .8 at 200meters last night when i caught sight of an enemy at 10 oclock high going the other way... it was an f100. He was about 1000 meters. ...1 missile left.. combat flaps, left bank, climb, came out perfectly on his six. Got perfect, steady tone on my PL-3. The missile went all of 100 meters and took a 90degree nose dive and flew straight into the ground! ..CRAP.. so i chased him down for a gun kill, but he turned behind some clouds so instead i dove and retreated at tree-top level. He was coming up behind me FAST so i turned again. Cost me my wing.... BOOM! Fresco + Tree = THousands of Pieces of Fresco.

I STILL love this plane!
