She flies nice, still a little troublesome for me on landing, but thats cos' my approach is still propeller plane short where as this at lower powers 33% - 48% on finals is a heavier plane of high landing speed coupled with a low sink rate limit.

Working on a redbull ski for her like the redbull mig-17 too, but its taking time matching up some of the details to teh mesh.

P.S. If you get into a flat spin at high altitude, do not try to use your braking parachute to recover - it doesn't release until low speed, so the ground will stop you first.

I am trying to get this bird to work in my ModAct 3.06 set-up. I have the basic JetWar 1.2 working perfectly, but cannot get the Mig-19 to work.

When I install it and update the air.ini, the game will not load at all. Do I need extra downloads, or am I doing something else wrong?

This version of MiG-19 is designed for jetwar 1.2. It won't work in UP. You'll need to either download a (not very updated) version of the MiG-19 for UP3.0 or make a copy of mod game for jetwar 1.2.

Noobie question - Is there a takeoff guide for this bird? Can someone tell me how long it takes the engine and other systems to become operative and how to use the move-able tail? thanks.

Perfect! lol

Also, dont pull the stick back either(or else barely touch it) or your Mig will attempt to go verticle while still on the ground resulting in a very unsatisfying explosion!

Thanks for the tips on technique, but my ? was even more noob-ish than that.

When I launch the mission, I cannot get the mig's engine to turn on. I cannot retract the airbrakes and I cannot get the aircraft to power up and take off when I get AI to actually turn on the engine. And I have no idea how to get the tail to move up and down!!!

I can take off perfectly in a Mig-15 or -17 and US jets.

What am I missing w the MiG-19?
