Newbie who needs help with mod installs.
« on: May 26, 2012, 03:27:53 PM »

Hello,

I've recently installed modactivator, and the buttons needed to use mods. I downloaded the Arado AR-234 C2, and the B-17 GMOD mods, and installed them in a "MODS" folder inside the main IL-2 folder. I then put the appropriate lines in the "air.ini" in the "objects" folder, but when I start the game up with a "Classic Modded Game" setup, the loading crashes at 95%.

I feel it is worth noting that I had to make the "MODS" folder that seems to be required for many mods, and I also own the Steam version of IL-2 Strurmovik: 1946.

Can anybody help fix my problem so I can get mods working?

No you do not make a MODS folder, the MODS folder in Modact is called #SAS. Also, run the game as Modact 3, not classic mod game.

Right... now it crashes on startup. I put the two plane folders in the #SAS file, but when I hit the start button with Modact 3 or later it closes out the startup menu, my screen turns black for a few seconds, and then it goes back to the IL-2 startup screen.

I set RAM to 512 MB, and I checked the JSGME, nothing is activated.

If by tested you mean starting IL-2 through steam, and making sure the RAM is at 512, and game type is set to SAS Modact 3 or later, than yes.

im stumped. post your logfile.

What's the name and extension of the file, because the only apparent event log is the file "eventlog.lst" which only says:
