I was trying to build a bomber airfield with two crossing runways using the concrete test airfield (Runway number 3 in Stationary Ships IIRC).  The problem is that the runways are not level with the surrounding terrain (they are quite a bit higher resulting in a large ledge around the runways) and any aircraft going off a runway either noses over or 'falls' off and blows up.

Is there any way to lower this runway to have it level with the local terrain??  I don't see how this particular test runway is useful as it is as it is impossible to taxi off the runway.
