It works with the A-1 Skyraider Tanker. It's difficult to get that slow, but it does work.

Finally an enemy for MiG-17!
in reality, this plane was historically more of a counter to the MiG-19

it doesn't look like it stood shance against Farmer but... anyways, I have no idea what is an  opponent to Fresco - even F-86F-40 is too weak for it, FJ-3M is a navy jet, Canadian Sabres are..  Canadian. Is there any late 50-s opponent for MiG-17?
mystere IV

And what about US one?

Back to topic. I fought I'll at least be a bit useful and report any issues.

So, this is what I found with all fixes and newest FM by Vega installed (JetWar 1.2, updated the correct class):
- the actual plane's Y-axis doesn't fully match the one of the model - the thrust vector points slightly (3-5 degrees) up, and at 0 degrees AOA it optically flies also at around 3-5.
- landing light isn't hooked to the front wheel's leg, and after lowering undercarriage it stays behind it - u know, just a cosmetic bullshit, I doesn't really matter.
- AI is stupid and can't land this plane, they just ignore landing waypoint and keep flying around the last one before it they do try to land but they don't menage to - they in circles around airfield at extremely low altitude until they crash - this is quite an issue.
- also the fuel gauge doesn't work, but it's actually an old F-86K issue. it works but the full-tank reading is far beyond scale
- damaged parts of model are invisible, skin disappears - damage model isn't finnished, right?

Did this plane have a drag chute? It would be nice to have it implemented bc it requires an incredibly long runway to stop. Also it would be nice if the canoppy openned upwards like in JetWar F-86K and D.

Anyways, the plane is awesome, gonna try it in some large dogfight now.

It works with the A-1 Skyraider Tanker. It's difficult to get that slow, but it does work.

How slow? The A-1H tanker can achieve a speed of around 400-500 kph.

The USAF also used Canadair Sabres and the MK.6 ones were far superior to stock F-86Fs.
Also keep in mind the later F-86Hs. I think both the Sabre 6 (canadair) and F-86H of course flew with the USAF. They would stand a chance, but after all I heard the Mig-17 pretty much gave US 60s jets a hard dance. I think an F-5A would stand a chance as well.
Just my 2 cents here..neither a pilot nor a specialist, only read much about late Sabres. :D :D

Would be awesome to have F-86H

Can't remember if I posted this but some testing done by the USAF concluded that the F-100D was evenly balance against the MiG-19. Indeed the 19 was superior in quite a few aspects but on a one-on-one, fairly matched.

Don't know why people are comparing the F-100 to the MiG-17. In the horizontal plane indeed the MiG-17 would run rings around it but in the vertical F-100 wins. Funnily enough, the RAAF CAC Sabres (faster than MiG-17Fs) use to regularly do exercises with USAF F-100s and come out on top :P

The landing light is not attched to the nose landing gear on the Hun. There are actually two lights installed on either side of the nose wheel well just forward of the speedbrake. The hooks issue is still being worked on that IIRC.
Note pic below. You will see the landing and taxi lights on either side of the nose gear aft door.

Yeah, roger on this one. Didn't notice that.

EDIT:

OK, I managed to make AI land. Just make sure that the last waypoint before landing has traditional ALT 500 SPD 300, there is space for manouvers between it and landing wp, and if plane lands with external ordnance the fuel level at aproach is no higher than 70% (tested for 4xSidewinder + 2xDT).

We need drag chute badly, half of my landings end up in field, I checked and it's historical. Same for JATO.

It seems I am not landing normally then. I practically stall her onto the ground and hit the brakes, like a carrier bird. Even on short fields she's fine. Taking back off again, though, that's a different matter.

I had that problem before, but the new FM fixed it.

Hmmmm... I keep on getting 60% CTD's over here. I'm running it with SAS modact and jetwar 1.2. Any ideas?
