Guys, remember the "Over Oleg's Fields" mod for IL-2 a while back, as made by the AAA team and headed by Deutschmark? Since then it seems it has been turned into a stand-alone game but, do you think that somehow we could collaborate with DM and he might share his WW1 aircraft with us? I recall that he had Fokker D.VIIs flying in the IL2 engine at some point. Sorry if I'm asking painfully obvious and silly questions, I'm just genuinely curious.
Kind regards,
Mike.
P.S Love the Rolls!  ;D

There was a Fokker DVII and an SE5a made flyable in the game before Canvas Knights was re-directed onto the Vehicle Simulator VSF Engine. They were not finished models but they were well on the way to being finished. Given that Deutschmark is still developing CK for the VSF Engine I cant imagine that he would agree to release anything for DBW-1916.

Of course remember I was waiting for that mod for a long time at AAA.
I still check AAA for Canvas Knights release date once a month or so.
The reason Deutschmark went for the standalone payware stuff is because there wasnt anybody to import his models into the IL-2 engine @ AAA. This was around 2009 iirc. Situation is still the same, I can do graphics but I cant import an aircraft into the game because I got no clue about java programming. So I can ask Deutschmark for some 3d material which he doesnt needs (first thing I would ask for is his Zeppelin) but I cannot get it ingame.

Cheers

Question is who will import the 3d we get into the game? Imho extensive java coding would be required plus probably additional 3d work, enough work for 2 people unfortunately.

Lanchesters of the RNAS in the desert.

Still have LODs to add in.
It would be appropriate to have both Desert and Summer skin versions for this perhaps.
Two weeks to be sure.

It would be nice to have the Rolls Royce Armoured Car as well.
The RR was the most numerous British armoured car, the Lanchester being second.

Can you imagine the conversation in Ministry of Defence procurement dept.
"We need to form an Armoured Car Squadron"
"Ok. I'll go out and buy 16 Rolls Royce's straight away"  :D

2 weeks you say?
Then I'll probably release v1b5 with the new tanks tomorrow.
I'm not saying this to make you hurry up, I'm really thankful for what we got already.

The sizes comparison is pretty amazing. Just look at those metal monsters  ;D The little tank will be hard to
bomb, its so tiny.
They´re all very nice for the battlefield and map making objects.

With stuff like this on the ground, and with the new aicraft, Il2 1916 gains new dimensions!

Must check the scale of the FT17. It was the one exported from HSFX.
It looks too small next to the other monsters.

I think Asheshouse is right the Renault FT tank is too small (but only 20%).

+ Thanks for the Lancaster armoured car, I got it working.
