Oh, please tell me they're two different planes. Have I gone cross-eyed through playing too much Making History Gold this week? There are two of them right I swear, I haven't touched a drop of booze since Christmas. No other mind altering substances either.

The Caudron GVI/G6 not the GIV/G4 , unfortunately it is a very strange plane with a few photos, it is often confused with the R6 / R11 despite being one of the twin-engine produced more than 500 specimens.

Life is more interesting than a computer game, but it can not be saved and loaded again. And the wounds received in battle, after many years, all the stronger start to hurt and the war more and more comes to you at night, in a dream ..

Few pictures from the Lela book :
https://www.mediafire.com/download/xy4gcr73akyx98x/caudronG6001.pdf

For the wing structure, the designers retained the same design as for the Caudron G4  (except for dimension), so vpmedia's pictures are not completly useless ;)
This was the Caudon G6 main drawback, as it was simply impossible to maneuver taking to account the higher power and the higher weight.
The R4 was much improved on this.

The G6 was one of the main french recon and arty spotter between early and late 1917
It usually operated by 2 : one accoplishing the mission, the other escorting (though it could be used as spare, a usefull precaution, especially for Arty spotting given the reliability of radios).
The "escort" G6 proved reasonnably successfull in chasing away interceptors, the R4 was much better for this

Stalker has also made me aware of the escort roles of the Caudron's jeanba, however, when set as Fighter or Sturmovik in the java I get some very strange behaviour from these two so currently both are set for the bomber role which makes them useless as escorts and also extremely vulnerable to attack as they do not fight back. :(

This might be a issue with the java or FM or possibly both and I do not know how to remedy the situation at the moment.

Anyway, these aircraft also feature more in the way of moving controls than other types we have put together, although not perfect hopefully it makes them a little  more interesting for those who might want to fly full real.

Take care.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
