I should restate...no there is no moving infantry in either UP or DBW

However there are infantry troops...it was getting them moving that required getting the scripts...they are available...and I have sent them to you.

Let's see if I get this straight. There IS moving infantry in DBW and UP. You have moving groups of 3 to 12 soldiers for different armies and they move and shoot nicely. They all are in the infantry section, when adding objects in FMB. Misteriously enough, this infantry is not included in DBW 1916 recent update  :o ??? :o ???, while there are cool mods really useful for static trench warfare, as the dugin and prone infantry (that should be added also to DBW)  What I understood you, Benge, had added were the long columns marching as vehicle columns to set along the roads together with the charts, etc.
Now, when I tried to add your columns, I realized they won't work in DBW 1916 as I have it, since there's no infantry included and you only added the lines for Chief.ini and Technics. ini.
Now my question is: How is it possible that infantry as is in DBW is not included in DBW 1916?  :'( :'(

Vpmedia, I've got the infantry of DBW work in 1916, but I have to copy the XTD folder of DBW to a folder in DBW1916. This added classfiles of original DBW and until now all seems to work OK (but I'm not warrant, little time for deeper testing).

The problem is the classfiles (hashed files) what are hidden somewhere in DBW XTD folder. If somebody who know exactly the correct classfiles (QTim's classhasher or resolver may help?) they can be included in a infantry mod folder. I believe the answer to the question is hidden at original DBW XTD folder.

No the long columns do not just sit along side the road..they move, the troops march in groups of 3 up to 12...

all that was needed was to add them to the technics and chief files..and I got them to work fine.

Vpmedia – you are a star, thanks so much for all the work and constant support with these great add-ons, in a simple to use format. Also thanks to all the moders & skinners contributing their work, to make these wonderful mods.

PS – Gaston – looks like patch 9, has all previous additions after patch 5, combined into one - worked for me.

Great. Only a question: In this update, there're many other folders and files that were apparently OK in previous one, such as cars and tanks and so on, do we really need to update them also?
Actually, some more questions: what happened to Wingflyr's Saint Chamond? https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26088.msg282710/boardseen.html#new

The last thing is something that I can change manually in static, but I think that should be applied for everybody willing to simulate a decent tank attack on trenches:
I've observed that tanks pass over trenches with no difficulty, as flat ground, while they stuck in front of barbed wire. This is kind of absurd, since they were introduced in WWI to crush barbed wire but ditched pretty often in trenches. It can be changed with the panzer values in static, making b-wire weaker and trenches harder, but may be should be done default for everybody. Opinions?

*BUMP*

DBW 1916 update v1.5 (UPDATED! 26.08.2012) -- on the front post

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26088.0.html

Thank you VPmedia, great friend Istvan, for making another great package for us.

If it was not for you, I would have to ask you to post again, or send me by e-mail, those
last patches you put together.
Because I lost 2 patches that were saved up in my pen and
my little girl Maria (I am her godfather) grabbed it when she saw it on the table and put
it into her yogurt !! ... She thought the PC-pen was a cookie !!  ;D
I cannot blame her, she is only 1 year old. She is soooo cute.

I thank you for putting this package together so I can have everything neatly stored
and will save it in a much safer place.
One day she will want to play this game too! :)

Thanks Max! :) You need 2 files from the first post of the topic, the larger update and the smaller incremental patch. Currently I'm waiting for release of Fokker Dr.1 beta to be able to release a ww1 Camel campaign I made, not much else left to do, which is good actually.

No more WW1 tanks added recently?
Did I miss something or a post?

I seen that screenshot a few weeks back with ALOT of amazing WW1 tanks.
I guess they were not finished yet, correct?
