A nice french tank was published yesterday in the Ships@Vehicles section by Gio.
Gonna make a patch which will add this with a new weathered skin:

It seems your work on this Vpmedia has brought out a lot of other WW1 stuff. Good to see that there is such interest and enthusiasm for the genre.

Thanks again to all the modders, skinners and artists for their hard work and on-going dedication.

I have a DBW 1.71 installation which includes the DBW 1916. I had updated the DBW 1916 with v1b5 . But I do not get the 3 Loading Screens as posted by vpmedia in his thread. Other things seem to work fine till now. I find the Gotha IV bomber still having the TB3 dashboard. But "Rise of Flight" youtube video on it shows a more accurate one. Also I have a  basic fundamental question. Since these planes are long dead and very few of them (original/flying replica/nonflying replica) remains in museum and private collection is it at all possible to know what was their cockpit like (historically accurate). Also photographs were rare in those days and also the chance of survival of engineering drawings is slim after  two great wars.

flying_dutchman,
All but one of the aircraft included in DBW1916 are "franken-planes"; that is, WW1-looking airplanes put together out of parts of other aircraft and not entirely realistic. Therefore, all of the bombers such as the HP400, Gotha and Sikorsky are heavily based on the TB3 and hence use the TB3 cockpit. The Sopwith Camel included, however, is not a franken-plane and is the first fully-completed public release aircraft, with realistic flight model, damage model, 3D model and cockpit. Some fully complete aircraft such as the DR1, SPAD, Fokker D.VII and D.VIII will soon be released as well.

Hello Flying Dutchman, the airplanes you see in this version of the IL-2 Mod-game (DBW-1916) are experimental
flying machines
and "very rare" airplanes from WW1  ;)
The artist modders created them from top-secret airplane blueprints found in an old wooden crate left forgotten in a museum storage room.
The museum was not going to allow us to use those old blueprints, but someone knew the President and he said it was OK, as long as he could
also fly the WW1 machines in DBW-1916. 8)
So what you see is all brand new (old) machines never seen before!
They also fly like old classic WW1 airplanes, which means very tricky flying and they burn quickly because of the wood and canvas construction.
What their cockpits looked like I have no idea, no one does. These were like experimental flying machines for combat. You must be the test
pilot and the ace pilot all at once if you want to survive in that cockpit.
VPmedia has created new cockpits for the airplanes but even though they are very nice and more realistic looking, I hardly look at them because
I keep looking out for some enemy airplanes trying to shoot me down all the time. Some of those new smart AI pilots are very agressive aces. Whomever did that change to the AI pilots, Thank You!
It makes for a better game. Like real WW1 aerial combat should be, agressive and no rules book! This is WW1 and the first time man flies
machines into combat. ALL combat rules are still to be written down and aerial dogfight maneuvers are still to be invented.
One day soon we shall have other WW1 airplanes that everyone already knows about from history books and films.
Some of them are already flying in DBW-1916 skies. The others are being built in the factory.
