Hi, max_thehitman. There's another edition of Bloody April coming out. This time the player is flying Nieuport 11s with 29 squadron. Along with 60 Squadron; it went through 100% of its pilots at this time. The missions won't entirely mirror those in the first pack. I had to change some to make them work.

cheers

Hi altoef. The start up bit sounded like a real rotary starting up. I guess when the sound files become available, they can be re-named to substitute for other rotary sounds too. They do after all sound quite similar. Keep up the good work.

cheers

Thanks for this great update guys.  DBW-1916 has come of age, well done.  I have been inspired to start building campaigns and missions for this excellent install.

Any chance I could get my own thread? I'll be releasing mini sound mods like this in the future, I'm sure of it.

BETA: Clerget engine sounds
This sound mod adds real noises to the Sopwith Camel and DH2.
Samples taken from recording of Clerget test run.
Place the "Samples" folder here:
#DBW_1916\AIRCRAFT_Camel
Overwrite when prompted. (Don't forget to backup just in case you don't like the new noises.)
(Note: In case of errors, please be sure to delete all other examples of the following files in your DBW 1916 folder,
Located in folders: "SOUNDMOD", "WW1_PlaneWeapons".
Clerget_1000.wav
Clerget_1001.wav
Clerget_1500.wav
Clerget_2000.wav
Clerget_2700.wav
Clerget_2701.wav

xClerget_1000.wav
xClerget_1001.wav
xClerget_1500.wav
xClerget_2000.wav
xClerget_2700.wav
xClerget_2701.wav

 I also recommend deleting:
an2_cyl_00.wav
an2_cyl_01.wav
an2_cyl_02.wav
For the time being.
The engine start-up isn't included yet. This is the BETA version, and just for testing and comparison against the old noises.
I will adjust volume levels and looping based on you guys' feedback.

Enjoy, please let me know your honest opinions. This is still WIP, and my ears are so used to it now I cannot rightly distinguish what to do correctly. I'm going crazy!  ???
Happy Halloween!

I wondered if it won't be better to split this thread and make a separate WW1 tech help/requests thread so that this can be cleaned up and remain only for updates/beta/wip announces
Moving the tech problems will also help  someone who got issues, he won't have to search trough 85 pages

You can change this in your profile/look& layout/post per page:50 then the topic is only 21 pages.

Hi, Mike, I was talking to MURDOC after looking at Skipper's WIPs. There is a strutter, and Snipe among them.
cheers

David, there are more WW1 airplanes in the factory being made than you can wish for.
Many many new airplanes, but they take time to be made and then time to be painted.
All in good time they will arrive to the IL-2 skies  ;)

Yes, I'd guessed as much. I'd seen references to them earlier in this thread. So I went looking to see what planes were involved. They'll be a pleasant surprise when they arrive.

cheers

I believe I've installed the update (*001 + *002) and also Part1's inclusions. If you hit enough buttons... lol
Here is a Nieuport 28 flying over the Somme 2 Summer map in the QMB. Both being astonishingly awesome.
The screenshot does not do proper justice in showing the spinning radial engine inside of the cowling. Too cool!
A huge thanks to those of you whom have contributed so much work, and generosity, in sharing these.
