I have run into some sort of snag with this machine - and others from the recent wave of SCW aircraft by DreamK. (And is REALLY holding my up in my building of SCW campaigns...) I get a memory read error whenever I touch the joy-stick! Or when I exit QMB.

I have tried to reinstall the joystick, but it works perfectly with other IL-2 aircraft, even modded ones, but some of these new ones - BANG - memory read error and CTD.  :o The Nieuport works, but not the Fury etc.

Anyone else seen this, or is it a freak thing with my machine???

Or have I run into the dreaded Java-wall?

I've found the info I lacked! at least most of it.
I must have fought of looking there before - the Archives of Flight Magazine!
I'll update the mod accordingly.

Gamma 2E pre-series (on a marketing tour in the UK, thence the RAF roundels):

Frontal view of a Gamma 2C showing the 4 machine guns ports clearly and underbelly bomb an pylons (slightly different from 2E and 5B versions)

And a photo of the rear gun mount of the Vultee V-11 which canopy and design was very similar to the Northrop Gamma 2E.

I've never experienced anything at all like that. Certainly not with a joystick. When I hit my java wall, ALL planes will crash just about immediately after a mission has loaded - you can just see a second or two of a cockpit and then bang ... error message and crash.

Poltava Hi!
Re-download and re-install.  :)
Sillius_Sodus has reported a similar problem, in this same forum section, but after downloading once again the aircraft from M4T and re-installing them, the problem disappeared...Strange thing! is it related to the problems with medafire some users have reported?
20% crashes means generally that the game looks for java files and doesn't find them. Some users have reported that with DBW1.7 you may need to name the Bomb packs folders Arms_Spain and Arms_France instead of _Arms_Spain and _Arms_France. This may be related.

Will redownload, and reinstall, and check the re-name thingie. (And, yes, I have had problems with Mediafire.) Hopefully it will be fixed soon! Thanks!

UPDATE 1: No neither thing did work :'( This must surely be one of the strangest things I've seen lately in this game. It is quite unstable now, all related to movement of the joystick. Even when I fly the Bf109E I touch the joystick and - BANG.

I will go back and disable aircraft after aircraft, in reverse. See if that will help - because earlier this week it all worked fine, and the Fury flew like a Fury...

UPDATE 2: Took out the Grumman Delfin, and now everything seems to be back to normal!  ;D ;D ;D Strange. Could be a corrupted download. Will later try and reinstall it.

UPDATE 3: Installed the Gamma, that ugly duckling. BANG! Problem is back... Curioser and curioser said Alice.

UPDATE 4: Took out the Gamma, and everything is fine again! Maybe it's just me being greedy, wanting to have all those beautiful aircraft of DreamK's. I will stay away from these latest ones, at least for a while, so I can go on with my Madrid campaign.

UPDATE 5: Installed the Potez, and everything worked without a snag. No signs of the problems experienced with the Gamma and the Delfin.

I get the 60% crash since i installed the update. Before updating the game would start normally, and also now if i disable this plane.

Any ideas what might go wrong? Until then i will revert back to the original version of the mod.

Thanks!

(EDIT: i run DBW 1.7)
