Yes C.rennier, when you look at the first post you will see an Icon for 4.09, 4.10, 4.11, & 4.12. This Mod has 4.12 Icon.

This mod is fantastic. Hosing down a air field looks real(ish), and shooting at planes in air does look like gun camera footage.

hi! as can be shortened far lines (ricochet from the earth at a distance), that are drawn after 3D models tracer?
in reality we see the point of the far ricochet, in game - line

In game it will be dependent of the distance, it doesn't matter if the tracer rounds ricocheted or not.

it is easy for a programmer in java code - to reduce the length of the last lod.No very realistic to see on the distance flying line after ricochet. Sorry - GOOGLE translate

There is no LOD for the tracers and there is nothing to do about LODs and ricochet because in real life, what you see is dependant of the velocity of the tracers instead of distance. ;)

Well, I think you are right about "easy for a programmer in java code", but it is not easy to me, because I'm not a "programmer in java code". :D :P

More on this:

  As stated by santobr, most of the 3d contents for effects doesn't have any LOD.

  That is not defined in Java code either, because all these processes are handled at C++ level with the graphics engine, not by Java classes. Java finally transfers the effects generation to il2fb.exe

  The most you can achieve is by indirectly modifying the effects (.eff files) but it is not much.

This ol' dinosaur is running 4.08, but this effect works. At first I neglected to add the distance setting text in my [Mods] section in conf.ini. When disabling the classfile, it worked, but the visibility of the textures was limited to about 100m. After adding the text in conf.ini, then reinstating the classfile, I got the longer visibility distance for the tracer textures.

However, the values in conf.ini always default back to the recommended values, where I try to set a larger distance. And I don't necessarily want to make conf.ini read only.

Any way around this?
