AircraftHotKey.class
« on: June 20, 2012, 02:09:12 PM »

with the arrival of new JetWar would be desirable to modify the AircraftHotKey.class files

Mig-21, F-100, F-4, A-7, all these aircraft had an autopilot but actually, because are fighters, can not have a level stabilizer and force an unrealistic flight in long-range mission and in level bomb using inertial navigation with OBOE object

obviously all these planes cannot be converted in typebomber to avoid a lot of issues with AI

so, maybe is better to add the level stabilizer on fighters in the next AircraftHotKey.class step!

It can be done, but you can also enable it in the flight model I believe

AFAIK the only way it has been done currently is through typebomber extension. I am pretty sure that line does nothing, or perhaps it needs to be enabled in both for it to work?

nope! Kiwibiggles (aka "warbird") -after Sani's advise- did a mod with all planes getting level stabilizer, with the method described by Vega (that is: "extends typebomber" is not used)

Anto: FM? no, the line I suspect you are thinking on doesn't do anything (at least not "level stab"). Needs the java.

Twister's POV mod also had a level stab feature for fighters, but unfortunately it won't play nice with the latest AI mod...
call it cheating, but i like this feature - gives me time to take in my surroundings, pour a cup of coffee from my thermos flask and have a sandwich without the AI deciding where to fly by itself..:D

maybe Wasted could help with it but in these days he is very busy with RL

he fixed for me a modified files that allow level stabilizer for jetfighters (i need it to test quickly the top speed)

I was sure that if you set CStabilizer in the FM to 1, you got a level stabilizer.

Anyway it is relatively easy to add this feature to that classfile, just I personally don't have the time to do so.
