Mushroom cloud

New nuclear explosion (mushroom cloud) effect. Now it contains really big and bright flash, shock wave which rises up to three kilometers up to ground, and cloud itself is now bigger and it's darker.

Tested only with DBW so no guarantee for working with any other game version.

Installation: Just extract file inside your MODS folder

I might update parts of this when I got more experience but I hope you also like this as this is now.

Thank's to santobr for original effect and for his advices during editing .eff files :)


Note: This bases only my personal prefrences so this is NOT historical, so, please no comments regarding historical facts.

FIX/UPDATE

I made whole mushroom much bigger. Test and see ;)

Fix: I had to fix shock wave textures because it affected also super sonic condensation cloud now it's more suitable for both occasions.

Instructions to use this: open __0Nuke folder there are folder called TEXTURES open it put condensation.tga file inside that folder let overwrite.

New texture, Much bigger, more dense

If you bomb big city with nuke the cloud will disappear immediately this mod doesn't cause it it is game engine limit as far as I know

For best result you need gurners visibility distance mod ;) otherwise smoke cloud will dissapear after short time

Love it. I think the gray color is fine and the initial fireball is cool as well.

Still, I'd love to see the next step done with these larger bombs. I know I seem like the mad prophet going on and on and on about this but the "flash" from both the nukes and the Mistel (and the tallboy) aren't "real" flashes as in what I guess is called "dynamic" lighting. The first few seconds of the nuke should truly illuminate the cockpit of your plane like the flare effect does and throw "real" light across the area just as the smaller bombs already do.  Naw, it's not a big issue I realize but I think it would just add some fun eye candy to the thing.

I've been told this is a programming thing as opposed to altering the art and/or particle files. Sanka pulled this off with the flak night effect so perhaps it can be done with the big bombs? The nuke especially would look amazing with a real area and aircraft illuminating burst of light.

Also, let me add this works in UP3 too!
