hi!

I would like to ask something from everybody!   I remember that before the SAS site started there were official campaings for the IL2 and the pacific fighters, I can remember two of them like the fires obove and wings over jungle, I think there were two more!


So what I would like to ask is that: If these campaings still exist, Where can I download them, and will they work on DBW 1.71?
and if they works we should create them a topic, I remember they were quite exciting!

The best place to look for campaigns is over at Mission4today.

for a moment there i thought you're talking about original campaigns from previous versions of Il-2, but in fact those you mentioned are 3rd party payware addons. there were quite a few of those - wings over waves/jungles/zitadelle, the fires above, the last days, banzaii, case blue, barbarossa, battle over europe and more. some were better than the others, some quite good indeed but most are now outdated with all the mod developments.

So you think that the wouldn't work in the modded version of game, like DBW 1.71? I know that those are payware but I thought It would be nice to upload them here to a seperate topic, like those are just campaings and not the full game.

3rd party payware addons

do you know what this means, right?

These all will work with any modded install since the stock game properties were left unchanged.

yes they work with the modded game (i own a few of them) but they all use stock content only, so limited number of maps and flyable planes, often stand-ins for something else, and with the modded game we now have the correct maps and flyables so much better campaigns could be designed.

what is worth though is the skins, these addons come with tons of nice skins usually.

but the campaigns being offered for free at m4t are often more up to date and generally have better quality than the old payware addons.

Thanks for the answers/ helps I have already registered on M4t like a year ago and I know there are many brilliant campaing for this great similator ( the best of ) . This idea just jumped into my mind, and I have some of the too, and I would like to offer them for free for anybody but I have only 3 of them, and of course find people with the similar thoughts! I wouldn't like to offend anybody with this.

Hi ,
I don´t think you can play all of the old Il2 Missions on the DBW.
The reason : Other object , planes ect. in the static, air and chief.ini .
I´ve tried - without effect.
You can try too -  good luck !

Nothing was removed from the game hence you must be able to play all free stock campaigns and payware addons in DBW.

It's working quite well, Ihave no problems with them, except we have better and also bigger maps now, and I have the modded old campaigns, so those are little bit better, I think you can still find them on the M4T site, there are plenty of good missions in that pack, and it has quite a nostalgic feeling, I play this simulator like ten years, and I still love it and it was never deleted from my pc since 2004 .
