Yes but you get to a certain point where hardware is not the issue, were just pushing the old game to its limits.
I'll reference my earlier posted hardware specs. Nothing I have is going to be a bottleneck for this game.

Dear all,

Hi all! Just a quick question from a relative newbie. Will my rig be able to run the "Full Monty" OK? Just want to know before I download all those files. Here's the partial specs:

* Intel  Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz Quad Core 8000K

* Coolermaster  Hyper TX3 Vertical, 3 Copper Heat Pipes, Extra Quiet CPU fan

* Gigabyte  GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 Z68, Onboard Video, DVI & HDMI, SLI & X-Fire, SATA3,  USB 3.0, GB LAN

* 8GB  (4x2GB) PC12800 DDR3 1600 Dual Channel

* GeForce  GTX 560 1GB PCI EXpress 16X dual head, HDMI

Cheers,
Scott

Sounds almost identical to mine, I have no problem running it, it's no different than any other mods, it just the map and how much stuff is on it that can kill any computer.  The Full Monty runs fine

Sounds like your basic 'KICKASS' rig there Scott, no worries!

I only ever mentioned the PC workload because some us have got a bit complacent over the years.  The new visuals and effects will make an old dual-core or the wrong card struggle a bit, but a reasonably up-to-date machine will max out Il2 easily.

...except for Gurner's effects, hey CWMV?

Ya, tell me about it  :D

It's just one of those things you can't go without though! Like visual crack.
Will continue looking for the solution when I get home, but until then I have to wonder if anyone else had the same problem?

Well....I got everything unpacked and installed into DBW via JSGME as per the instructions (used the clean DBW files before installing the Monty Packs). However, when I use the IL2 selector 2.2.2 by SAS/Ultrapack to launch the game, nothing happens. Just the selector comes back up. I can launch the stock version of the game.

Seems something got messed up. One possibility might be the merging of the files from the Monty 1  1-1,1-2,1-3/Monty 2-1, 2-2, and Monty 9 9-1,9-2 into their own #DBW_MONTY-01, etc...Could someone post a screenie of what it's supposed to look like?

A couple of the Monty Pack files once unzipped were just slightly smaller than what the size was stated to be in the PDF. Also 7 and 13 that I downloaded from the speedy site were corrupt. I had to re-download them from the media file site.

Any help will be appreciated!

Cheers,
Scott

OK, here's an update. Re-installed everything. No using the selector, the sim loads to 5%, then crashes.

Hi Monty
Im seeding the packs.
One question: how do I get the music stations working?.
I already assigned paths to next beacon and previous beacon, but I rear nothing.
Should I turn the music on on the harware set up, or in flight music....?
Thanks a lot
