Retextured stock Iwo Jima map v1.1







UP3/DBW compatible only, cause the textures storing order is the same of UP3.0.

Install as usual putting Iwo folder into the #UP#(or #DBW)/MapMods/Maps/...

The 3do folder contains Suribachi Mount textures.

N.B. I've added two dedicated Iwo_Landlight.mat and Iwo_CloudShadows.mat.
The CloudShadows.mat has lower values to avoid those dark squares on the map:
with a value of 0.10 they don't appear (but clouds don't cast shadows).

You don't need to add any line to your all.ini cause this replace the stock one!

Nice retexture. :) I'm curious about the clouds. If the value is increased a bit, will the clouds make shadows but not have the ugly squares and lines on a map?

I hate them...I rather prefer to not have cloud shadows.

Someone smarter than me on graphics should  investigate  ;)

If you allow, I would like to get some info about the cloud lines problem, you and Bombsaway talked about that:

TBH this (to me) randomly appearing issue of ugly lines on the sea or the sea and land terrain bothers me quite some time, I see it a couple of times a week as shadows and have no idea what triggers or eliminates it.

I don't know what cause those ugly squares. Do they come from clouds texture, perhaps? Sometimes they appear in the same place of the same map..sometime not.

The only thing I can do is to set a value of 0.10 in the CloudShadows.mat (if you don't have it
download here this mod that you surely already know https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,12508.msg244237.html#msg244237)

0.10 it's a low value, so you don't have shadows from clouds...but in this way you can get rid off squares!

I think I keep that in mind. I love the shadows but you offered an alternative I may try.
Sometimes I simply deactivate clouds and set the weather the way I like the e.g. hazy fog.
