Pratt & Wihtney R-2800
« on: July 25, 2012, 05:55:57 AM »

Hi all, as some already know took some time working alongside Birdman, trying to change some aspect of the simulator, https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25142.0.html.

Now we have the P-47 almost finished and we thought that once we could put also improve the appearance of the engine.

But we need the help of Skinner, a bad season, I know, holidays, but for that very reason there is no hurry, I imagine that by the end of the holiday will be published this Mod.

An image of Pratt & Whitney R-2800.

Thanks & Regards, Jero.

Dont know if this will help but here is an image that someone could try to use. Its almost from right in front of the engine so you could try to size it and see if it looks ok. I dont know where to find the engine texture or I would try.

I'll can see what I can find to assist, though I can't promise anything...
If anyone else wishes to help, I think shots from as close as dead centre 'bang on' to the crank/prop boss centreline...

On the F6F-5 there is a place on the skin for the engine and I just did a quick job here as a test but here is the engine from the pic I posted above.

I cant find where to try it on the P-47.

Well, topic closed for now. Yesterday I asked permission to use the textures Gerd engine your F8F model and not only allowed me to use textures, also said I could use the mesh. ;D

Last night I could even look at them fast and have a pint formidable :P, thank you very much Gerd.

I am eager to put under the cowling of the P-47.

Jero.
