Neptune fire bomber
« on: August 06, 2012, 03:12:37 AM »

I see that Mexchiwa has made some firebomber skins for the Neptune over at M4T.  All we need now are some fires & some water to put them out - step forward CY6??!!  ChrisD

Because I do not have the interest, enthusiasm, knowledge and quite frankly at 71 years of age, the time to start learning a new skill.  I use a PC as a tool to earn a living & for an hour a so in the evening I relax with IL2.   If you do not want to make a new nose for a PRU P-38 then don't.  If CY6 is not interested in making a water drop for the Neptune he does not have to.  You guys are doing it as a hobby because you enjoy it & get pleasure from sharing your work for free for others to use.  I personally am very grateful indeed that you do this & I would like to thank you all for your work.  But that does not mean that we all have to learn the black art of programming.
Enough ranting!

I've thought a lot about a mod like this (don't even know where to begin modding, though). Was thinking it could be based on the Il-2's VAP-250 weapon (if that's feasible). Not sure if we'd need new fire objects or could use the existing ones .  If you delete a fire object in FMB it disappears over the course of a few seconds.  Maybe some of this is useful as a starting point.

I've done other firebomber skins (as have MaxtheHitman, DutchErik, and Ronsperk - all should be on M4T). But be careful with mine, some are obsolete and I've updated a few.  I've also got a campaign on M4T called La La Land fires for the stock game - not very realistic, but it might be worth looking at.  Anyway, enjoy what we have now and hopefully a modded will become interested in this (if it's doable) or I'll finally learn how to do something with the PC besides pretend I'm a capable pilot/skinner/mission builder.  Enjoy
