Startegic Air Campaigns
« on: August 18, 2012, 05:03:45 AM »

Through the work of modders for years we have more and more bombers in the Il-2. But those planes have no worthy targets.
Although there are a great variety of objects, their destruction has litlle effect on the course of the campaign.

So my question is: would it be possible to introduce the game of mechanisms that assess the effects of strategic bombing campaigns influenced on the campaign?
For example, destruction or damaging to aircraft and engine factorieswould result in the appropriate reifnrocements and repairing damaged aircraft. Destruction of fuel depot (refineries) and ammunition depots (ammunition factories) would reduce the army offensive and defensive power (armies could stop their advance or retreat).
Destroying the supply columns (or sea convoys) would enforce to abandon the airfield or would delay ground offensive.
And so on.

What do you think about the chances and possibilities of implementing such an idea?

yup. DCG should be your first choice.

a part from the readme:
"This program can also generate single mission as well as missions for the on-line "Dogfight" and "Coop" modes (there are two "on-line" friendly campaigns available for use). Over time, the front lines will shift, airfields may be captured and recaptured and objects appear and disappear. Squadrons will transfer closer to the front as friendly ground forces advance or bug-out should the enemy break-through. Armor, truck columns, and trains will also move from city to city during missions and ships from harbor to harbor, starting the next mission at the city or harbor moved to in the previous mission. Build ups of guns and armor will also appear at the "front" and captured locations will have new defences generated.

IL-2 DCG will also track plane losses, pilot deaths, and the replacement of both, awards and promotions, as well as the destruction and replacements of moving vehicle and tank columns, trains, and ships, and static ground defenses. All in all, DCG offers IL-2 players a fully dynamic world in which to fly. "

in short: all that you destroy (or not..) has a direct influence on the next mission and the campaign outcome.  ;)

Hello guys,

A few years ago I've been using DCG, but both now and then I had the same problem. I do not know how to run a campaign with some types of aircraft. Years ago, I had problems with B5N2 "Kate", and now "Kate" works fine, but D4Y2 / 3 "Judy" not. :(
Now I'm using DCG for DBW version, so planes are added to the file allpayloads and payloads, I added them to a file planesINF.dat, but DCG constantly is changing "Judy" to the H8K1. :(
Any advices, please?

H8K1 = Upgrade for Judy in "planes.dat"?
turn "historical production dates" off...?

There is no upgrade path between Judy and H8K and I turned off production dates also.
But it looks like DCG can't handle with "new" modded planes - I have the same situation with Do-217E changed to FW 200...  :(

check something.
open the masters folder. inside are the campaigns for the different scenarios.
Put the desired mis file into your game/missions/FMB
find the planes. change Do217 to FW200 there. save
put the chganged mis file back into DCG, see what happens.

First of all there wasn't any entry in file Masters\lviv.mis with FW 200 or even DO-217 E. So I changed  He 111 to Do 217E, but there isn't any difference - still FW 200 instead of Do-217 E.

is the Do 217 E ( NOT K!) present in all DCG files. allpayloads, aircraft class, everywhere?
