Visual Pilot
« on: August 19, 2012, 11:53:55 AM »

I think that looking at an empty seat when you are at first person view in the cockpit it is not that immersive. So why not making viible the hands with all gloves details, the legs and feets with detailed boots of what the pilot sees of himself when seated on the cockpit ? I think it will give a more realistic feeling in the cockpit which can become empty when the pilot bails out like now is for the view from outside ( Pilot in cockpit when flying, no pilot when he bails out ).
Anyone to this challenge?.

I want my pilot legs to be like Angelina Jolie (She has a pilots license, ya know  :-* ) legs very smooth and cleanly shaved and with a nice tan, and...and...
and I want her to be in a mini-skirt with high-heels !!

A pilot figure has been done, but I'm not sure who did the mod.

You can see pilot model in Tiger moth but it would be nice to have visible pilot for other planes too

It has been requested before and have seen a mod for it somewhere. Maybe here at SAS or at another IL2 related site. Can't remember.
I personally prefer no pilot's legs, hands, gloves etc. as it is blocking the way of instruments I prefer to see.

In Fw189 & Blenheim too.

Big +1.... When you fly the real thing, you see your arms and legs, why not the IL2 version? Been hoping somebody could address, or provide some pointers on how to do.....

I would like to not be alone in a B-25 coockpit as well.
But i am also aware that a badly done pilot can be more negative than no Pilot at all.

Well, in many bombers with open turrets for gunners you can see pilots, etc, when you turn around. Couldn't that be done for the rest too?

Definitely support this. However the model would need to represent height-size of average ww2 pilot or be scaled down. anythink bigger and you would not see much in cockpit.

I think it was called the Natali Portman Mod you could either have her as your co pilot,or you could replace the pilot skin with one of your own choice.(UPDATE) Yep that's what it was  http://www.allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9747&hilit=Natalie+Portman  all links are dead.
