no, they have not, still there, looking at it right now.
depending from which link you come (1st post?) it may seem so but if you come from their site's main gate it is there as it was before.

all this is so sad...

All very sad to have another spat in the community.... however as regards them not wanting their work released in any pack wasn't it mainly due to its "beta" and unfinished format? perhaps also this is more complicated than it seems because japancat was part of Tainan-Kosho at the time ( or am i not up to speed) So many things are lost in translation and Hot heads and uninformed comments only inflame things (speaking very generally and not at any one in this thread! :))) perhaps this should be left until the relevent parties have sorted it out themselves.

Thanks Japancat for all your great contributions to IL-2 :)

Hi all mates!

I'm near JC and I support his status and decision.

I have wrote something to both even when in the past he and TT have broken their partnership.

At the moment the release in the Tainan update of that read me is a very impolite action towards JC and I hope to don't see further rudeness toward someone in the future.

I ask at all you friends to please understand also that the every nation have people with a specific character and soul (even if the long time from the divorce have let me hope for at least an indifferent cohabitation) so we should lower the tone with both the contender and ask instead at our and their site fellows to contact them and , speaking at name of both comm/unity , try to achieve an agreement and don't let the duel rise to something harder that can only be harmful for all the communities!

I have had some writing exchange with Hades and I know that he can be a good conciliator as our Cirx!

I ask both to give a try to realize an important new mod called 'armistice between great modders'!!!!

We can rise only in peace and trying to understand eachothers , pursuit what can make us close and avoid what make us scattered!!

however as regards them not wanting their work released in any pack wasn't it mainly due to its "beta" and unfinished format?

This is the recent reason given (when we asked them last week if we could use their maps)

The original reason given, when the first big Tainan Pack was released, was that we were not allowed integration because we (SAS and UP) changed stock FM's.

I remember this very clearly, because I launched a witch hunt on our buttons that took weeks to complete. Even Monguse helped me with it. In the end we found, that there were in fact 1 or 2 fm's that had alterations, but, that these were simple referencing errors, and that the errors were inherited from old UI versions, and did in fact even appear in HSFX as well. We all fixed that.

It was about this time that we met Japancat, who, like most modders, believed in developing mods in an open and free way for the whole community. He wanted to help with the 109 series, and make these mods available freely to all. It was for this attitude that Tainan booted him, and then proceeded to vilify him in the Japanese modding community. Hence the bad feelings from JC about this all.

About the beta testing, my opinion is that, if you want something Beta out there (and aren't all mods basically always Beta?), to the extent that you release it in a pack, that is the worst thing you can do. It makes much more sence to seperate it out, and make it available easily and to many people , who will use it in many setups, and uncover many more bugs. In the pack, 90% of the bugs I have personally found so far, has nothing to do with the mods themselves, just with poor packing. For example, just on the surface, the UP JSGME section of the Tainan 120 pack is missing more than 150 FligntModel and EngineModel files. The HSFX part misses more than 40.

So, the Beta excuse does exist, but it is not a realy good one, and if it was, you would have seen Tainan post many smaller mod packages to aid in development. So that excuse returns a Null error for me. ;D

In any event, if the Beta reason is a good one, what the hell are they doing taking someone else's Beta and working on it? Sounds a bit underhanded I think.

Be that as it may though, we respected their reasons anyway. Pity the gesture was not returned.

But dont worry guys, there will be no spat or fight here. We are all old men, and as you may know, old men will never fight you, since they are too old to fight. They will simply kill you and be done with it ;D

Am sorry to say v1.20 is still available. Won't be downloading myself, I have been looking forward to this aircraft for a long time but out of respect to JapanCat I will continue to wait for a version released by him.

yes, I saw the link at AAS just now. I checked my downloadmanager's history just to be sure, so, it seems they moved the index page and the file to another location on their server from the one posted here earlier.
