« on: August 23, 2012, 05:33:43 PM »

Hello I am a newbie,
I have IL-21946 4.101 and UP3RC$ working just fine on my systm now. I tried to download and install DBW 1.71. It isnt working for me. The instalation instructions jut say to extract it to my IL-2 1946 folder. Are ther some more detailed instalation instructions?
Help.

no... you can also create a folder "test" on your desktop, and extract the content of the downloaded files there.
then you can see what is in there,,,

and then put everything you see  (ctrl+A/select everything with the mouse) and then copy to your game folder (ctrl+v/paste) and overwrite where necessary.

start jsgme. move everything to the left
start selector.exe. choose DBW
start game

OK, I did what you said, and I got stuck during the loading at 95%. I am not sure what that means. I did overwrite alll of the files when I transfered DBW into my IL-2 1946 main folder.
Can you think of something else that I shuld try?
Thanks

Thank you,
Yes in the JSME activator, I moved everything over to the left. the next step I made was to go to the IL-2 selector, and select DBW. I then saved the changes in the selector and launched. The load page read v 4.101 and loaded to 95%, then just froze in place at 95%.

Just a thought Should there be anykind of #DBW files in the JSMEmods folder? All I see in there now are #SAS, and #UP folders.

When DBW is working properly will the load page indicate that DBW is loading?

What do you think I should try next?

Thnk you

Yes it will say DBW v1.71. No #DBW files in the JSMEmods folder means you didn't copy paste everything correctly.

What you SHOULD do is download the DBW all-in-one in the DBW section here, save to your IL2 root folder,
then extract and overwrite when prompted too.

Theres no big mystery to it.

1. Install clean copy of IL2 from CD
1a. run to make sure it works
2. patch it up to v4.101
2a. run to make sure it works
3. Install up3rc4 available here extract in your IL2 root folder, overwrite when prompted
3a. run to make sure it works.

Now your at this point:

4. Install DBW v1.71 all-in-one pack available here extract in your IL2 root folder, overwrite when prompted
4a. run to make sure it works.
5. NOW you fiddle with it. (If you already make changes b4 install DBW, perhaps goto step 1)
5a. Have fun

I also recommend when installing the game from CD, you do it in safe mode.. almost 0% chance of something going wrong.

Also, re-download DBW cause sounds like something went wrong. Let it download don't fiddle with computer when its downloading.
IF same problema, goto step 1.

Horrido!
