DBS: Historical MP Missions

Referencing...

Interested in teamwork and bombing with a group of bombers? Formation flying and everything that goes with it? Have no experience in any of the mentioned thing but would love to learn some? Then DBS is perfect for you! We are a casual group of open minded bomber pilots that focus on historical tactics, formation flying and having fun. We hold no mandatory meetings, wear no tags, are scattered all over the World and welcome anyone who likes teamwork and "full switch" flying.

Have a look at these threads:

(we also fly DCS A-10C, and occasionally RoF)

----

Why am I posting this here? Because we're now hard at work in restarting our weekly DBS Missions. Here is a copy of the post I am shearing all across known IL2 forums:

Quote
Dedicated Bomber Squadron is hosting a public bomber practice. If you like teamwork, formation flying, coordinated bombing - or wish to learn any of them, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. DBS has a history of organizing bomber oriented events, with great successes. This time we're taking it a step further - with a full training plan and higher level of dedication towards each pilot.

You can read about the requirements, details and more in this thread:

3rd Bomber Practice and Evaluation

Post here or on our forums (recommended) if you are interested in joining the fun.

Ever wondered how it would be to man one of those guns on a B-17? Fan of Memphis Belle, 12 OC High and Warlover?

Then join us this Sunday on testing a new concept of DBS Missions, COOP with human gunners: DBS will do the flying, YOU do the shooting! (original thread link)

Good news for the Bomber fans!  8) Thanks for taking an interest and posting this
here in our modest little forum. I am sure many fans here are also great fans of your flying club.

Have a great flight and let the good times happen!

I would love to participate, but my pilot skills (especially flying in formation) aren't yet the greatest, although I haven't tried with real players it's been mostly single player experience.

There is no better way to kick things off than in the manner of well organized MP mission like this. Here the focus is survival and teamwork. DBS flies formation, you can either tag along or grab a fighter or a plane carrying a torpedo, or even a scout PBY. The only requirements are to respect other pilots and to have fun. Besides, others will show you the ropes.

This is not a scoring contest either, but historical reenactment. Get in there and get out alive if you can. :)

Excellent. If you can, please register at our forums and select A/C you wish to fly. It is easier for us to keep track of pilot requests in one place.

Double check you have everything you need under the "requirements" list.

Just in case someone got a wrong impression:

This is a historical mission with the primary goal being recreating the historical battle and the atmosphere, with emphasis on teamwork and having fun. Scoring points is last on our list. Huge testing went into building the map for this mission. Each fleet was accurately populated and all 7 carriers that fought on that fateful day are featured in. Flak was fine tuned to result with minimum lag while not being harmless at the same time. We have AI flying nice historical formations and preforming coordinated attacks for the blue side - to set the atmosphere and populate the battlefield even more. You can read all about this and more, here:

If this is something that interests you, feel free to register at our forums and reserve a one of 60 available slots (many already reserved):

Before doing so, make sure you have all the requirements.

These and many more screens available HERE.

Since PTO seems to be very popular, we're running Coral Sea next. Discussion on when and with modified settings is located HERE.

T}{OR,
you guys should be filming these missions for the HISTORY CHANNEL.
All the little historical details are in there, and so often the History Channel is wrong. They should be
using IL2+mods for showing historical aviation battles!  8)
