I tested the mod in 4.09, UP3.4 and 4.12 and works without problem. Have you tried changing the  Il2core.dll?
A recurring theme with me on this forum is that I am anything but a technocrat.  Changing the Il2core.dll, not really certain what that means.  Change it to what?  Open it with what?  Are we talking about the Il2core in the game's main folder?  I freely admit that I'm poorly equipped to handle techno-stuff like this, and I'm sure that everyone else who ever reads your post will understand it perfectly.  Unfortunately, I am not such a person.  Is it possible to dumb that down for the likes of me?

A higher level dll file seems to be required when applying a 3D version of the plane or pilot.

If you go here, there is the drill file (4096) for a big file.

Unzipped the zip file, copy and paste the two files inside into your main folder.

But just in case, make sure to re-name two existing files (put the '-' symbol in front of the drill name) and back them up.

I don't know if this will solve your problem.

I'm just advising you on how to do it only with the drill file.

Thank you for the link.  I shall attempt this before long.  Worth a try, right?

If you've already done it, you don't have to try it.

But let's try it one time. Or change the location of the folder in the front by adding "!"(rename) to the name of the folder.

If it still doesn't work, I recommend you try this plane version instead of the 3D version. It's the same plane anyway.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28268.msg455247.html#msg455247

The plane folder only needs to be located in front of the 3D version's plane folder without having to erase the 3D version's plane folder.

If it still doesn't work out, press SHIFT+tab with the pink plane out to see what message comes out.

Other than that, there seems to be no more way I can help.

You can only hope that an expert will step up and help you.

Thank you.

This is a problem that I have long questioned !!

Why don't all version of this plane have a gear going down ??

How do you land this plane ??

I just leave the mission without landing... ::(

Have you tried the manual lowering pressing a lot of time the gear buttons?

Well, tried and it worked.  Went into QMB and the Hawk appeared as it should have.  Not a barbie plane anymore, nor in a barbie world.

Glad the one idea turned out to be THE idea.  Now, I can make plans for a Sino Japanese War campaign.

Thanx a million.  Will remember this next time a barbie plane appears.

I fixed the poor handling of the Hawk-3 for myself.
It now has a controlled stabilizer that makes takeoff and landing easier.
The speed of the Hawk-3 also corresponds to the historical one.
A very good plane for the early 30s.
