I get the aforementioned stutters using this in both 4.11 and 4.12 based games. Any ideas how it's solved or what causes it? Thanks in advance.

I question whether this mod is arrested hook for landing on aircraft carrier ?

Nope, this is the land-based version.  But it's capable of slow enough flight that you can land it on a carrier without needing a hook.

Actually I have experimented and added a hook to it. The trouble is not landings but take offs. For some reason the player flown plane breaks the tail wheel when chocks are released. Notice in the screen shot that the player controlled plane's tires sink into the deck when chocks are released. The AI controlled planes do not sink as can be seen from the plane in the background.

If you add all of Birdman's fixes, the gear msh files specifically, the plane will nose over when AI tries to take off from carriers when using DBW.

Both Gumpy and myself have been testing it but have not yet worked out the tail wheel snapping.

Hawk III with Tailhook

Does anyone know if a tail hook was added to frankenplanes Curtis Hawk III for carrier ops. I looked everywhere for it but I couldn't find it.

I actually added the hook but ran into a strange issue with the tail wheel.
When the chocks were released the tail wheel would break on the player flown plane only. The AI planes did not break the wheel.

I also noticed on the player's plane the wheels would sink slightly in deck, again the AI ones did not suffer from that issue.

These defects are only present on  carriers where the hook is needed, on land the tail wheel did not break.

I was planning on revisiting it again, I just can not promise when.

Here is my test version.
https://www.mediafire.com/download/nix5kmy8kybkak3/Hawk-III_naval_v1.5.7z

Need 101tft's "HAWK III (68)3d rework"
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=28268.0

But I havn't tested its tail hook.
I havn't scceeded landing on a carrier, because of my too poor flying technique.
Will someone succeed?

On my version, taking-off from carriers is no problem, no hit its tail or etc. etc.

"Jetboy", I merged your request and the replies with this thread to avoid any confusion.  ;)

many thanks western, will try.  :)

Tried in DBW: hook works OK, but had tailwheel error
as reported by CWatson (see above).

please confirm:
- should Birdmans fix mod be included?
