Hi All,

I've just wacked in a new copy of the fantastic 5 UP3, DBW, DBW 1916, SASMODACT, CLASSIC MOD GAME in to the following.

A laptop,

A ATI Mobility Radeon x 2300 video card.

Windows Vista.

I can only get excellent setting now   

Does anyone have any experience using this particular graphics card and laptop.

The laptop is a Sony Viao

Would anyone have any particular conf. ini settings to help achieve Perfect Setting  ((( If Possible)))



Have a desk top with nvidea graphics card Win 7 and perfect setting.

I have a copy running on my laptop (windows 7 - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series); slightly different but runs in perfect mode. It will even handle 2048 textures. 

I have installed catalyst 12.4 with atioglxx.dll (6.14.10.11259  - catalyst 10 version??) in il2 folder.

I could not add all my conf.ini; it is too big (and contains some mod specific settings), but I think the relevant sections are there.  Hope your card will manage.. Will keep my fingers crossed.

I'm sure this will help alot 

I am trying to set up the laptop with perfect settings as I'll mainly use it for map making when I am away from home for the week.

I'll be able to ontinue the wok 

Will report back after I add in what was suggested.

Also you could pm your conf.ini just copy and paste the whole .ini into the message.

Hi PanzerKiel,

Your conf.ini settings helped greatly and the little driver download as well 

All systems are go in Perfect mode   

I just have to adjust the screen measurements in the conf,ini to get the full screen.

Now I can work away from home on maps oooohh so gooooood 

I also readjusted the laptop for better performance and I think that had a little to do with it as well.

Oh by the way I am Canadian/Ausralian living in Thailand with a Thai wife.

Have been living here for past 7 years.

I do know some Thai but not full on conversation Thai  too difficult         55555 (Thai for he he he he he )

Hi Kirby, good to hear it worked out.   
I also have a double IL2 install: on my desktop to play and on my laptop to test new mods and experiment. The frame rates are not optimal on the laptop, but missions with not too many AA and ships are playable. My conf.ini on the desktop is slightly different (all maxed out )

I too have a Thai wife, but I made her come to Holland, and my Thai is probably more basic then your's.

Nice one where is your wife from in Thailand?

My wife is from a Chinese /Thai village in between Chiang Rai and Chiang Kong. Lived most of her life in Chiang Mai.

I recall when the SAS first started up and the thread Show your face and introduce yourself some one made a quote in it.

The SAS attracts guys with Asian women. I need to get one for me too.

My wife is from Sakhon Nakhon region.
I am actually planning to go on holiday to Chiang Rai after the bi-yearly family visit next time.
But that will be summer of 2014 - we went to Phuket last month.   

Could it be that men with Asian wifes need a virtual escape and have a craving to shoot others from the sky?

I've to had this problem for an age now on my laptop with an ati 6770m card and windows7 64bit, would I be able to have a go at the conf ini file please?

Hi Cam B, all the info is already in this thread:

First check if you have the correct drivers installed: some versions are not compatible with Il2 (there are a lot of threads discussing this).
I am using Catalyst 12.4.
Then download the atioglxx.dll  version 6.14.10.11259.  I think this one is from Catalyst 9 or 10.
Next: make a backup of your conf.ini and store it somewhere safe
Now edit the conf.ini in you Il2 folder and overwrite the 3 sections from post above with settings listed.

Start IL2 and keep your fingers crossed.   

I have sent you my conf.ini in PM as well, but remember I have some settings added for mods you may not (yet) have, plus I have a wide screen laptop; so you may have to adjust [Window] part. Best to use the same resolution as your desktop.
I am not sure what the results will be if you use all of my conf.ini (might work -  but maybe not)..
