When the Buccaneers were sent to the gulf to be used as target designators, they were controlled by American air traffic controllers.

They didn't have a clue about the capabilities of the bucc , or really RAF pilots.

One radio exchange that was widely leaked always made me laugh.

BUCC : Control Alpha Tango 12 entering airspace.
ATC Alpha Tango 12 , roger. Cleared to 50 feet.
A few seconds of silence.
BUCC Roger Control.
BUCC Climbing
