Hello everybody. I have a request. I looked everywhere on the forum but I haven't found anything about rain on the canopy so i guess I'm the first to ask this request.

So this idea was in my head since a lot of months. There are a lot of requests on the forum and the modders have better to do but I try my luck ( sorry I don't think is the good expression )

When an aircraft cross through a cloud, there is sometimes drops of water sliding over the cockpit. And it's the same when it's raining and the aircraft is flying. I think it will be a big addition in the game and a very good immersion for most reality. But I'm not a modder, so I don't know if it's possible to do that, and if the game engine is able to do that.

We have already blood and oil on the canopy when the aircraft or the pilot is injured. So maybe it's possible I don't know.

So if a modder can do that, I thank him forever.

Maybe i'm wrong but even some stock aircraft have this effect.
Maybe the IL2 series

I didn't found any aircraft with this effect. I try all de Il-2 family with rain with no result. Maybe there is a special mod somewhere.
If the author of the P-11 c can add this incredible mod on he Bf-109 family, it will be great I would be eternally grateful. Because I'm a big fan of this effect.

It may have been on a very early version of IL2, I'm not sure but I seem to recall one of the earliest demos having that kind of effect.

Yes, why ? Because it's just a super effect for the game !

Yes, the IL2 demo that came bundled with a PC magazine had rain streaking the canopy - I remember I flew the Aircobra agaisnt some Ju88s and couldn't see a goddamned thing! That was in about 2001 or 2002, I think.

well I should still have a copy of the demo if someone wants to extract it somehow.. or i'm sure someone can download the demo off the web still...
