IL2 Feature: "Rhapsody in dark blue: An aerial ballet."
« on: September 28, 2012, 05:27:08 PM »

Hey guys,
For a long time I dreamed of setting an aerial battle to the music of George Gerschwin's "Rhapsody in blue.", one of the most epic pieces of music ever written. When I was 12 I used to run around with model mosquitoes and spitfires and mock aerial battles to that music. Now, with the advent of screen-captures and video editing, I have finally made the first cut of my "aerial ballet".
Using the Dark Blue World mod (Hence rhapsody in DARK blue.), I must say my thanks to everyone who has contributed to the SAS site. :)

The film tracks the course of Do-17 bombers as they get mauled on a mission over Southampton, and while most of their comrades land, some stragglers are left to be dealt with by the Royal Air Force.

Some parts are rough, but this labor of love is still WIP.  ;D
Dont forget to watch in 1080p!
Enjoy!

I always loved Gershwin's music. I also spent hours when kid listening that magic music, but I have to acknowledge that never associated it to air battles, but painting. Nice work.

Thanks Juanmalapuente. :) It's a great bit of music.. My 12 year-old mind just put it to aerial combat for some reason!  ;D

I'm kind of annoyed that I can't edit this further. There are a few things I'd like to fix up, but Windows Movie Maker won't let me because the file is too big. Every time I load it, some files act as if they are corrupted(Even though they aren't) and the preview video won't work. I had a great ending lined up but the preview wouldn't let me see my editing so I had to do it blind going by sound and so it isn't as good.  :(
