Rabaul and using GCI(ft) object mod
« on: October 04, 2012, 06:47:12 AM »

Hi

I created a mission where US B-25's attack Rabaul which is defended by Zero's..  On the map I have placed GCI(ft) objects to act as Japanese radar sites.  I fly as a Zero pilot to a beacon and await teh GCI(ft) to point me to the oncoming enemy flight.  This part of the mission works fine.
However other Zero flights dont leave their loitering positions and attach the flights at all.  Am I right in saying teh GCI(ft) object should vector the AI Zero's to the enemy planes?.  I am sure this worked fine in a nightfighter mission over GErmany before that I created.
Is there another object apart from GCI(ft) that I should use on the map to vector the Ai Zeroes to the enemy?
GCI(ft) is set to BLUE

Cheers

No, you should use the Vector object to send AI flights towards enemy bombers. The GCI just reports their position to the player.

Ah thankyou CY6.  I knew I must have been doing something wrong.
Do I just need one vector object on map or are they positioned like radars?
Cheers

They work like radars, place them where you think the radars would be positioned. You can have as many as you like in a mission.
