Rusty Marsden Matting. WIP

I have been working on getting some rusty looking Marsden Matting. In real life this stuff would rust and fairly quickly due to the weather or closeness to the ocean and the salt air. Runways were kept up but parking and maintanance areas came second so here a couple of pics...

What I have...




I want to add some oil to them maybe to look like planes have been there leaking oil on them.

Thanks guys. Blumax is the driving force behind this. He sent me ones he had made and it inspired me to edit the color to make the "rust" colored ones. I have a whole runway of these that could be used for "abandoned" airfields or just parking like in my pics.

Looking cool as rusted is as rusted does 8)

A search online for
"rusted metal textures" -xxx, -porn
...etc could bring up some multitude of splotchy and crazed pics to be ovelayed via darken only, colour only options.

Not wishing to steal anyone's thunder but we have had this in game for a long time, I installed this version (slightly lighter in tone by me for personal taste).  I must have installed this about three years ago, cant recollect where from though.

Hi Eddie. I never saw that one. I'm glad you posted it. We dont have it in DBW so thats why I started work on a new one. Thanks to Razor1UK's suggestion I found a better texture. This way its not a color edit of the original that keeps being changed and will be a entirely new one. I'll post some pics soon.

You could always soak them in water for a few days and see if that makes them go rusty......just an idea i had  ;D

I recall we also have it in HistoMod, at least had it in an older version. But again with the different colour.
Keep it rusty and once done, please give me a link so I can forward it to Histo as well. :D
