The Albatros D.III was a biplane fighter aircraft used by the Imperial German Army Air Service (Luftstreitkräfte) and the Austro-Hungarian Air Service (Luftfahrtruppen) during World War I. The D.III was flown by many top German aces, including Manfred von Richthofen, Ernst Udet, Erich Löwenhardt, Kurt Wolff, and Karl Emil Schäfer. It was the preeminent fighter during the period of German aerial dominance known as "Bloody April" 1917. The plane was manufactured in Albatros Werke and Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke factories. In total 1346 copies of Albatros D.III were built.Albatros D. III was used for destroying enemy balloons and airplanes. It was also commonly on duty when escorting bombers and scout planes. Pilots mentioned excellent view from the cockpit, good controllability, high speed and climb rate. After new Mercedes D. Sadly most game companies and modders focus on western front which they recreate 1000x times so this is welcoming change for the austro hungrian campaign.
