Hello Greiff

Gorgeous cockpits ... and even more in 3DStereo thanks to Benito.
Thanks a lot for your nice work.

Read the post of Slipper and noticed I had the same problem with the Viking racks. So I'll try to do what you are advising us.

BUT ... is it me or the mod's fault , but my compass is acting  totally wrong. I mean when I m flying e/g westwards on the map (Kursk ) it shows me totally irrelevant headings !.
(Your mod has been installed on a DBW171 install ).

I don't think this problem is Cockpit repaint related but I never noticed that Me-262 behaviour.

Can you please confirm or not if you have the same problem ?

Thanks a lot.

Sonny Tucson :)

Compass problem caused REALISTICK Navigation option Just try to switch off that and check. I'm hard die 4,09user  :D

Awesome work, Greif, but I do have a problem. After installing the new cockpit skins, I get the dreaded 'paratrooper error' for every plane now. :(

I know all about the texture compression setting fix for this type of error, but I don't think that's the issue here. I didn't have to reduce the texture quality on my old PC, and that install had way more mod textures than my current one (still installing old mods on new PC after upgrading last spring :P ). Besides, the Bf-109 cockpit skins I'm curently using are much larger in memory than these beauties.

I've read that the paratrooper error could be an issue with the exe or the selector, and this install is the first one I've ever used with the SAS exe selector application. Could that be the root of this? I've never seen this infamous error myself until now... why these cockpits?

P.S. I'm running 4.10.1 with SAS modact.

Hi Greiff

Thanks for your answer but ... no way , still acting mad !.

I also noticed that in external view the opening part of the canopy is well there ,but when sitting in my bucket it looks like this part is missing ! I have the windscreen frame as well as the frame of the fixed aft part but no frame or glass of the opening part .
It is like I was flying with a blown out canopy.

Is it me , DBW171 or ... ?

I'll try it on my good old 4.09

But still ...Jesus , that pit is just wonderfull , THANKS.

Sonny  :)

Spookie read   https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,9756.msg185522.html#msg185522  not a cure but a fix

That's what I meant when I said I know about the texture compression fix. I don't want to lower the texture quality of the whole game just to fix a bug; I know that texture size and memory usage definitely should not be a problem for the PC that I built this year. I suspect that it has something to do with the SAS exe selector, but I can't figure out why these cockpits are the trigger.

Am I the only one with this problem so far? Anybody else running 4.10.1 with  modact and the selector set to 1GB memory usage?

P.S. Greif, these are the best looking pits ever done for those two planes 8)

Hi Spookie.

Just try Tex compression and you'll see that you won't see any  difference!.
Even with HDef textures. These are always as beautifull as without Tex Compression.

So, Tex compression doesn't affect the quality of the textures in Il-2? I thought Storebor said it lowers quality slightly, but I'll have to try it myself I guess. Thanks Sonny.

Also, I tried putting the new textures in one file at a time to see if there's one culrpit, and I'm even more confused: the files for gauges work fine, but the ones for the damaged versions cause my game to crash upon loading... after everything has loaded, instead of seeing the plane, sky, ground, etc, all I see is a cyan background followed by a CTD. Totally bizarre...
